Miniature Painting and 3D Printing Terms of Service

Terms of Service:

Here’s an outline of the Terms of Service (ToS) for both the miniature painting service and the 3D printing service. Each outline is tailored to the specific needs and considerations of these services.

Terms of Service for Miniature Painting Service

1. Introduction


- Company Information: Kaged Miniatures, Edmonton AB.
- Scope: TTRPG Miniature painting, minor repairs, and assembly.

2. Services Provided

- Service Description: Detailed painting for Dungeons and Dragons miniatures, Warhammer 40k miniatures, and various other collectibles.
- Custom Work: Custom colour schemes and themes available upon request. Will be confirmed before work begins.

3. Order Process

- Submission:
Orders will be placed via contact form or email (ehrinl@hotmail.com). List the quantity of miniatures, quality and design expectations (table ready vs parade ready), and method of submission i.e. pick up, drop off, mail-in, or other.

Quotation:  Clients can receive a personalized quote based on their specific requirements, including size, detail level, and any additional services requested

4. Pricing and Payment


- Pricing Structure: Pricing is based on miniature size, detail level, and complexity.

 

Base Pricing Categories

Size:
Small Miniatures
(e.g., 28mm scale, small figures): Typically priced lower due to smaller surface area and less painting time.
Medium Miniatures (e.g., 32mm to 54mm scale, larger figures or small vehicles): Mid-range pricing that reflects increased complexity and size.
Large Miniatures (e.g., 75mm scale, large vehicles, or monsters): Higher pricing due to extensive detailing and larger surface area.

Detail Level:
Basic:
Description:
Simple base coats with minimal shading and highlighting.
Price: Lowest tier, suitable for budget-conscious clients or tabletop gaming needs.

Standard:
Description:
Includes detailed painting with basic highlights and shading, adding depth and realism.
Price: Mid-range, ideal for general collection or gaming.

Premium:
Description:
High-detail work with advanced techniques such as custom effects, extensive shading, and highlighting.
Price: Highest tier, often used for collectible pieces or high-end displays.


Additional Factors Affecting Pricing

Complexity:

Simple Designs: Lower cost for straightforward designs or minimal details.
Complex Designs: Higher cost for intricate designs, multiple colors, or custom artwork.

Special Effects:
Standard Effects:
Basic weathering, simple glows, or metallic finishes.
Advanced Effects: Custom glow effects, extensive weathering, or unique artistic touches (e.g., fire, magic).

Custom Requests:
Personalization:
Extra charges for custom designs, unique color schemes, or specific thematic elements.
Conversion Work: Additional costs for modifying or assembling miniatures before painting.

Rush Orders:
Standard Turnaround:
Regular pricing for standard completion times.
Expedited Service: Higher cost for faster turnaround times or priority service.

Base Decoration:

Standard painting for bases to match the miniature.
Custom Bases: Extra charges for elaborate base designs or scenic elements.
 

 

4. Payment Terms: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of required before starting the work. The remaining 50% is due when work is completed and before miniatures are to be handed over. Payment via PayPal, kagedminiatures,com, or e-transfer.
- Additional Costs: Extra charges for rush orders, additional details, or materials to be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

5. Timeline and Delivery

- Turnaround Time: Estimated timeframes for completion are based on the complexity of the painting. Deadlines will be discussed and set on a per-project basis. Delays will be indicated to the client promptly via email.

Shipping: Shipping will be provided via Canada Post. Shipping not included in painting fee.

 


6. Quality and Revisions

- Quality Assurance: Standards for painting quality are completed to customer satisfaction.

Revisions: Revisions are to be requested in writing. May incur additional fees based on amount of work required to accommodate.

7. Cancellation and Refunds

- Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Cancellation Conditions

Before Work Begins:

Full Refund: Clients may cancel their order and receive a full refund if the cancellation occurs before any painting work has started. This includes the period after the initial quote has been accepted but before the miniature has been painted.

After Work Begins but Before Completion:
Partial Refund:
If cancellation occurs after the painting process has started but before completion, the client may be entitled to a partial refund. The refund amount will be calculated based on the percentage of work completed and any non-refundable materials or costs incurred.

After Completion:
No Refund:
Once the miniature painting is completed, cancellations will not be eligible for a refund. The client is responsible for the full payment as the service has been fully rendered.

8. Liability

- Limitations: We are not liable for any damage that occurs during shipping once the miniature leaves our facility. Clients are responsible for ensuring adequate shipping insurance and packaging.Any shipping damage claims should be directed to the shipping carrier. We will assist with providing necessary documentation for claims, but ultimate responsibility lies with the carrier. We use high-quality packaging to minimize the risk of damage. Clients are encouraged to inspect packaging upon receipt and report any damage immediately. Our liability is limited to the cost of the painting service only. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Exclusions: We not liable for damages resulting from improper care or handling of the painted miniature after delivery.

Responsibility: Client’s responsibility is for ensuring miniatures are in good condition before painting.

9. Dispute Resolution

- Resolution Process: To resolve disputes effectively, start with direct communication between the parties to attempt an informal resolution. If this fails, submit a formal written complaint for review. Should a satisfactory resolution still not be reached, engage in mediation with a neutral third-party mediator to facilitate a mutually agreeable solution. If mediation does not resolve the issue, arbitration may be pursued, where a neutral arbitrator will make a binding decision. Throughout the process, maintain detailed documentation and adhere to the final resolution or arbitration award.

10. Modifications to Terms

- Notification of Changes: Clients will be notified of any changes to the Terms of Service as outlined in the “Changes to Terms of Service” section.
- Re-Acknowledgment: Clients may be required to re-acknowledge the updated Terms of Service if significant changes are made.

11. Intellectual Property

 

- Usage Rights: Rights to use images of painted miniatures for promotional purposes.

1. Introduction

- Company Information: Kaged Miniatures, Edmonton AB
- Scope: PLA printing larger scale pieces for terrain etc., resin printing for miniature and fine detail smaller pieces

2. Services Provided

- Service Description: Our 3D printing service offers custom printing solutions for a wide range of applications, from prototypes and models to custom-designed parts and collectibles. Using advanced 3D printing technology, we turn digital designs into high-quality physical objects tailored to your specifications.
- Custom Prints: Custom designs are possible if client provides appropriate file type for use.

3. Order Process

- Submission:
3D files, design specifications, and any supporting documentation will be submitted via email.

Quotation: Process for obtaining a quote is based on file complexity, material, and print size.

4. Pricing and Payment

PLA (Polylactic Acid):

Cost: $0.05 - $0.10 per cubic centimeter (cm³).


Resin:

Cost: $0.20 - $0.50 per cm³.

Price Adjustment: Base rate with minimal additional cost.

Cost: $10 - $50, depending on the extent of post-processing required.


Rush Orders:

Cost: 20% - 50% additional fee on total order cost.
